Mia Foote

Meet Mia!

Mia came to yoga as an eager 12-year-old basketball player, needing some help with her balance and coordination. After a summer of many different yoga forms at a local studio, she decided yoga was something she wished to continue pursuing and eventually fell in love with the practice.

After tons of classes and speaking with her instructor, Chelsea Aldrich, and her parents, she decided to pursue the 200-hour yoga teacher training that was being offered here at Shakti and Free Yoga Studio in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

Before she came to yoga, her body was stiff and lacked basic flexibility and balance. She was also very hard on her body, considering she played many sports which had her physically performing almost all year, every year. Yoga aided her in finding the peace and rejuvenation her body craved and allowed her to finally let go of what caused her pain and stress.

The practice of yoga has taught her so much and she hopes to continue learning and mastering new techniques and styles. She especially looks forward to training in Buti Yoga, which is a form of dance-like movement that allows you to sweat out any worries or stresses weighing on your shoulders. Along with Buti, she also aspires to train in prenatal yoga, due to her love of babies and the connection between a mother and a child. However, for now, she loves teaching beginners practice because it allows her to slowly and moderately introduce people to this beautiful flow, which is exactly what began her journey.

She looks forward to studying in college as an architect, as this will grow her creative and artistic talents. She has dreams of one day owning her own architecture firm in close vicinity to home. Although she is young, she is confident in her knowledge of the yogic practice and in teaching others.

She will continue to learn and grow in her yoga journey, in order to better fill the needs of her students. She will be entirely dedicated to assisting those who chose to attend her classes, helping to introduce them to their bodies' needs, and fulfilling those, just as she did.

She hopes that you will join her on her new path.
